Agenda:

6 pm to 6.30 pm – Reception

6.30 pm to 8 pm – Rob Goffee, Gareth Jones and Tom Barry discuss the core concepts behind ‘Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?’ and reveal how true authentic leadership centres on the needs of followers and not simply emulating other famous leaders.

The evening will include an interactive session demonstrating how global corporations can put the learning from ‘Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?’ to work in their organisations. Find out how companies like Anglo-American, Heineken, Nestle, Unilever and KPMG have used these concepts to build the leadership calibre within their management ranks.

Rob Goffee is professor of organisational behaviour at London Business School, where he teaches on the world renowned Senior Executive Programme. His research has covered entrepreneurship, business formation and growth, and managerial careers - topics explored in the seven books he authored.

Gareth Jones is a Fellow of the Centre for Management Development at London Business School and a visiting professor at INSEAD, Fontainebleau and IE Business School (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid.

In a career that has spanned both the academic and business worlds, Gareth was director of human resources at the BBC. At Polygram, then the world's largest recorded music company, he was senior vice president for global human resources.

 

Tom Barry is Managing Director of BlessingWhite Europe. Tom established BlessingWhite’s UK office in 1990 and grew the business to a world-class consultancy specialising in leadership and engagement. He heads a team developing and implementing solutions through Europe. Clients value his breadth of business and management experience and the practical results that this brings. Tom was previously Business Development Director at outsourcing specialists Williams Lea.
